Ways to Give Monthly or Annually
“Giving is not just about making a donation. It’s about making a difference.” – Kathy Calvin
Annual and Memorial gifts from our friends normally come from a recurring monthly donation. Whether you wish to donate on your own behalf or become a donor to memorialize the life of a relative, friend, or other individuals who played a significant role in your life, these gifts are an easy way for you to support the initiatives of HRF throughout the entire year.
Would you prefer to give during your lifetime versus leaving a bequest or beneficiary designation? You can do this by becoming a Major Gifts donor – which represents a significant commitment. These donations are normally larger than most annual gifts and come from savings or brokerage accounts, sometimes over the span of several years.
These gifts are sometimes made during life, other times at death, as in the case of a bequest. They primarily involve non-cash assets such as real estate, business holdings, or other estate assets. Ultimate gifts require planning and should involve the assistance of professional advisors.
Gifts of appreciated securities (stocks) are a popular alternative to making a cash gift as they may offer you additional tax advantages. In addition to receiving an income tax deduction for the full market value of the securities, you may also avoid capital gains on the appreciation of your stocks.

*With any gift, HRF recommends consultation with your tax and financial advisors. The Human Resources Foundation does not provide legal or tax advice. All donors and advisors should also consult their tax advisors to properly determine the tax benefits/outcomes of making a charitable gift.
